When we let the baby chicks play indoors, outside the baby box, we keep the basic cleaning kit handy. These chicks are not house trained, and can poop anywhere they feel like. But we try to restrict where they can walk  on, such as hard floor and designated bath towels. In any case, cleaning poop (with paper towel, etc) immediately is essential. Here’s a list of our basic cleaning kit:

• Paper towel
• Scissors to cut paper towel into small pieces (the size of the cut increase as the chicks grow bigger)
• Small container for the stack of cut paper towels
• Small container with a lid for used paper towel and poop (used food plastic package works well)
