Kiki Fights Respiratory Disease
Kiki, our five-year old Barred Rock hen, recently developed a respiratory disease. I first noticed her with heavy breathing with her beak open. He sinus looked stuffy most of the time, but she occasionally cleared it out with running nose and sneezing. She stopped laying eggs a couple of weeks ago, and her breathing became even heavier last weekend. So I made an appointment with our vet first thing in the morning. He said Kiki has water in her lungs. He diagnosed that she had respiratory infection, and prescribed antibiotics (Baytril) for five days.
